Fusion Fuel has successfully commissioned its H2Évora plant after successfully connecting it to the Portuguese power grid.

The demonstration project, which consists of 15 HEVO-Solar units and associated balance of plant equipment, will generate 15 tons of green hydrogen per year while avoiding the release of 135 tons of CO2.

A 200-kilowatt FCwave fuel cell module supplied by Ballard Power Systems is used to convert green hydrogen into electricity, allowing Fusion Fuel to sell power into the electric grid during peak demand periods.

Fusion Fuel’s solar-to-hydrogen HEVO solution combined with Ballard’s fuel cell technology provides a strong proof of concept for the use of hydrogen as a flexible energy storage vector and off-grid power supply.
