Hexagon Purus breaks ground on a new hydrogen cylinder manufacturing facility in Kassel, Germany.
In Kassel, Germany, Hexagon Purus, is expanding its capacity. A significant groundbreaking ceremony for the company’s new engineering and manufacturing base for hydrogen cylinders was held with leaders from the city of Kassel.
The new Hexagon Purus plant is in the Niederzwehren industrial park. The 38,8000-square-meter property will host a manufacturing plant as well as a technological center for innovative product development and pilot production.
The mayor of Kassel, Christian Geselle, stressed the significance of Hexagon’s growth for the city: “We were able to provide Hexagon Purus with the finest circumstances for development and expansion by giving a location in the Kassel Niederzwehren industrial park. I am delighted that the firm has opted to continue its expansion in Kassel, where it will focus on the development of clean, sustainable, and zero-emission transportation solutions, therefore contributing significantly to the energy transition.”
Hexagon Purus Executive Vice President LDC Michael Kleschinski said: “For Hexagon Purus, it signals the start of a new era. For our zero-emission transportation solutions, Kassel will become the ‘European Hub’ of high-pressure cylinder manufacture.”
The expansion is projected to result in the creation of 150 new jobs, with operations beginning in 2023.
