At CIIE 2021, Hexagon Purus will present its cylinder and system solutions for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs).

The CIIE is a major expo that brings foreign products and services to the attention of the whole country’s market and government.

The Chinese government has devised a comprehensive plan to industrialize all essential technologies in order to mass-produce Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs). By 2025, they hope to have 50,000 FCEVs on the road, with a million by 2030. Light utility trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles are projected to make up the majority of these. However, big Chinese automakers are now eyeing the FC passenger vehicle market for the second half of this decade.

Type 4 cylinder technology has surpassed Type 3 as the pressure vessel of choice for competitive and safe lightweight containment of energy gases (CNG/RNG and CHG) on vehicles and gas distribution trailers in Europe and the Americas during the last 15 years. Type 4 cylinders are thought to be the game changer for mainstream adoption of FCEVs because to their reduced weight, longer cycle life, and cheaper cost.

Hexagon Purus is a Hexagon Group subsidiary with its own stock exchange listing. In Europe, North America, and now China, the Group has a manufacturing history of more than four decades, producing safe and cost-effective Type 4 cylinders, as well as full car fuel systems and distribution solutions for energy gases.
