In order to send affordable green hydrogen from Canada to the UK, Greenergy and Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies have agreed to conditions for a cooperative pre-feasibility study on the construction of a commercial scale hydrogen supply chain.
Using the infrastructure already in place for liquid fuels, Hydrogenious’ tried-and-true Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) technology enables hydrogen to be chemically linked to a thermal oil for bulk shipping and storage. Transporting and handling hydrogen in ports and metropolitan areas is safe and simple once it has been momentarily absorbed to the LOHC. The hydrogen will be liberated from the liquid carrier upon arrival and discharge at the import location and delivered as pure green hydrogen to end customers.
With River Thames already recognized as a key region to fulfill anticipated demand for hydrogen in the South East of England, Greenergy’s access to major terminals is suitable for the importation, discharge, and distribution of hydrogen utilizing the LOHC. Delivery to a wide range of industrial and commercial customers throughout the UK will also be possible thanks to Greenergy’s strong customer base and distribution network.
