Hydrolux and PMG will collaborate on the development of a smart tiny unmanned ship constructed of aluminum that will be powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology.
By the end of the year, the two companies plan to apply the hydrogen fuel cell system to unmanned autonomous small vessels made of aluminum, and environmentally friendly material and introduce an eco-friendly, unmanned small initial model that can operate with low noise and long distances compared to existing diesel-engine vessels. A hydrogen storage alloy material developed separately by Hydrolux is used in the fuel supply tank, which securely stores and provides high-pressure hydrogen.
The hydrogen fuel supply system that uses Hydrolux’s high-efficiency hydrogen storage alloy as a material not only triples the hydrogen storage capacity of the current hydrogen fuel supply system, but it also provides outstanding safety by storing and releasing hydrogen at ambient temperature. As a result, the volume may be lowered by more than a third, and it has the advantage of being adaptable to any container form or size.
Based on the technology used by remote control unmanned ships for coastal intelligence acquisition, surveillance and reconnaissance, and a crackdown on illegal fishing, PMG will jointly produce a hydrogen fuel cell propulsion type smart small unmanned aerial vehicle with a total length of 5.55 m, the width of 2.08 m, and a maximum speed of 30 knots.
