Hyliion Holdings Corp. (HYLN) and Victory Clean Energy Inc. (VYEY) have formed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) to facilitate the release of up to ten KARNO generators.
The units are bound for deployment within H2 Energy Group (H2EG) hydrogen production plants, a subsidiary of Victory. The innovative KARNO generators, driven by hydrogen-rich syngas harnessed from renewable biomass, will be used to enhance operations at H2EG’s green hydrogen production plants.
The terms of the LOI dictate the release of the first five KARNO generators to H2EG in late 2025. Each generator has an estimated energy output of 200 kW, with a combined capacity of 1 MW. H2EG aims to maximize the generators’ combined heat and power capabilities to increase manufacturing process efficiency. The deal also allows H2EG the potential to buy an additional five KARNO generators upon successful installation of initial units.
The KARNO generator emerges as a fuel-flexible solution employing a linear generator framework for economical and effective power generation. Expected to operate on various fuels such as hydrogen, RNG, biogas, and propane among others, the modular generator promises lower emissions and significantly reduced maintenance cost compared to traditional methods.
