With two significant industrial businesses, Hyphen Hydrogen Energy (Hyphen) has signed non-binding Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in an effort to supply them with up to 750,000 tonnes of green ammonia yearly.
Up to 500,000 tonnes and 250,000 tonnes of offtake per year, respectively, are the targets of the agreements with a significant chemical business and Approtium, a South Korean hydrogen producer.
The deals come after Hyphen recently signed an MoU with German energy giant RWE Supply and Trading (RWEST) for the supply of up to 300,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually beginning in 2027. Hyphen has already signed MoUs for more than one million tonnes of ammonia annually.
By 2027, Hyphen, a green hydrogen development business with Namibian registration, hopes to produce one million tonnes of green ammonia annually. In addition to its pledges to supply and decarbonize energy locally within Namibia and the southern Africa area, the company wants to grow annual output to two million tonnes of green ammonia by 2029 for export to worldwide markets.
