The government announced that a draft of the Hydrogen Mission paper had been drafted. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the commencement of the National Hydrogen Mission in his Independence Day address from the previous year.
Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Bhagwanth Khuba stated in a written response to the Rajya Sabha that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) had drafted a Mission paper.
The draft mission, according to the minister, provides a framework for demand creation, a basket of actions to encourage the production and consumption of green hydrogen, and support for indigenous manufacturing.
In addition, it involves research and development, pilot projects, enabling legislation and regulations, and the creation of infrastructure.
The minister stated that mission implementation will likely increase production of green hydrogen and reduce manufacturing costs.
