Indox Energy Systems has invested 500,000 euros in the green hydrogen plant in Fonolleres (Lleida), which was inaugurated last Friday by Roger Torrent, the Generalitat’s Minister of Business and Labor, who was joined by the company’s owners, Angel Riudalbas and Jorge Tornini, and its general manager, Albert Milé.

Indox’s general director said that the half-million-euro expenditure comprises engineering and development items and that the firm is adapting the facility with the goal of reaching full capacity within a month.

According to Albert Milé, the initiative they are promoting is the first industrial facility in Catalonia to manufacture green hydrogen and reuse it in its own thermal operations.

Minister Roger Torrent said during the inauguration that the project demonstrates the type of industry that the Generalitat wants: “clean, contemporary, and inventive,” according to a statement from the Ministry.

The minister emphasized the necessity of putting oneself in the European and global energy transformation competition, particularly in the hydrogen-led race.

The company, which employs 150 people and was founded in 1967, produces equipment and engineering for liquefied natural gas and fuel distribution, transportation, and storage systems. It has two manufacturing facilities, one in Anglesola (Lleida) and the other in Fonolleres, where it also has an after-sales center.
