ITM Power and Sumitomo Corporation have installed a NEPTUNE electrolyser at Tokyo Gas Co Ltd’s Yokohama Techno Station.
This electrolyzer was designed and produced by ITM in the UK and then shipped to Japan. It has been successfully assembled and will be put into operation soon. The hydrogen produced will then be used in the e-methane production of Tokyo Gas.
This project takes Japan a step further in its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. ITM Power’s CEO, Dennis Schulz, confirmed the company’s eagerness to support Tokyo Gas in bringing hydrogen technology to Japan.
