The landscape of sustainable energy is set for a significant transformation as EET Hydrogen gears up for the front-end engineering design (FEED) of its planned 1GW HPP2 blue hydrogen production plant in the UK. This ambitious project is poised to mark a milestone in the realm of clean energy, with KBR taking the lead in executing the FEED.

EET Hydrogen, formerly known as Vertex Hydrogen, envisions establishing the production site at Essar’s Stanlow Manufacturing Complex. This strategic location will leverage waste fuel gas and natural gas to produce hydrogen, incorporating an innovative approach of capturing and storing carbon dioxide (CO2) in Liverpool Bay. The utilization of waste gases underscores a commitment to maximizing resources and minimizing environmental impact.

The selection of KBR for the front-end engineering design reflects a strategic move to ensure precision and efficiency in the development of the 1GW HPP2 blue hydrogen production plant. KBR’s extensive experience and expertise in engineering and design positions them as a key player in translating EET Hydrogen’s vision into a tangible and efficient reality.

The projected outcome of this groundbreaking initiative is the annual production of approximately 230,000 tonnes of hydrogen.
