South Korea’s Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Czech Hydrogen Technology Platform (HYTEP) to collaborate on clean hydrogen initiatives.
This MOU was signed in Prague and aims to enhance cooperation within the European market. The partnership focuses on producing clean hydrogen using surplus energy from nuclear power plants.
Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun was pictured with Kong Young-gon of KHNP and Ales Doucek of HYTEP, along with Czech Industry Minister Jozef Sikela, underscoring the importance of the agreement. The collaboration is expected to boost South Korea’s competitiveness in the global clean hydrogen sector.
A senior official from KHNP, Kong Young-gon, emphasized that the agreement aims to turn collaborative efforts into success in Europe. The MOU comes after a South Korean consortium led by KHNP was chosen as the preferred bidder for constructing two nuclear reactors in the Czech Republic.
