KKR and the Hero Group have put $450.0 million into the Indian IPP Hero Future Energies (HFE) to fund the company’s growth in renewable energy.

The investment, spearheaded by KKR, will set up the IPP for expansion across multiple technologies by 2025, including solar, wind, battery storage, and green hydrogen.

The IPP, which began operations in 2012, has a presence in India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Singapore and operates a portfolio of 1.6 GW of solar and wind projects. Ukraine and the United Kingdom are also home to HFE offices.
