To promote hydrogen production and fuel cell power generation projects using biogas, Kolon Global has partnered with Doosan Fuel Cell, a domestic fuel cell development business.

A “Basic Agreement for the Growth of Mid- to Long-Term Businesses and Collaboration Areas” was signed by Kolon Global and Doosan Fuel Cell at the Doosan Tower in Dongdaemun, Seoul.

The two businesses will enter the market for selling electricity generated from organic waste materials, according the agreement. Fuel delivery, EPC (production, procurement, building), and securing piping facilities are all handled by Kolon Global. Long-term maintenance is handled by Doosan Fuel Cell in addition to supplying hydrogen fuel cells (LTSA).

This allows for the supply of digester gas, which contains around 60% of the methane produced by sewage and food treatment facilities, as well as the production of power from biogas, which contains more than 95% methane.

The hydrogen fuel cell (Trizen) model from Doosan Fuel Cell, which can generate heat, electricity, and hydrogen all at once, is being actively used. This generates hydrogen that can be sent to local homes, public buildings, and charging stations.
