Gary Deakin has been hired by the company, which assists firms in meeting their carbon reduction goals. It states that he has 36 years of leadership, planning, organizational development, and people management expertise from his former job as chief of staff of a NATO headquarters in Italy when he held the rank of major general.
According to the corporation, which develops, installs, and maintains integrated hydrogen energy systems in the UK and globally, he was in charge of NATO operations in southern Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
His hiring, which comes after Logan Energy hired former SSE chief Ian Marchant to its board last year, is said to allow the company to “grow at pace in response to demand for hydrogen energy systems such as microgrids and refueling services for long-range electric heavy goods trucks.”
Mr. Deakin, who is “passionate” about addressing climate change, said he was eager to find a position in renewable energy that fit his expertise following his military service, and after spending time with a number of organizations in the field, he chose Logan Energy.
“I will oversee the firm as it goes up a gear, enabling it to satisfy the demand for our services, which is increasing year after year,” he continued. The workforce has more than quadrupled in the previous year and will continue to expand dramatically over the next five years, delivering 100 new renewable energy employment to East Lothian, Scotland, and the United Kingdom.”
Logan Energy, which already has a presence in Glasgow, plans to expand its service offering across the UK and beyond with additional facilities at its Wallyford headquarters, with the goal of speeding up the development of its unique hydrogen technology.
