The European Hydrogen Alliance has announced a new tender titled “Supply and Installation of Hydrogen Production Equipment,” published on May 28, 2024.

Submissions for this tender are due by June 30, 2024. This tender is a significant step forward for the hydrogen industry, aimed at boosting local hydrogen production capabilities and supporting the transition to green energy.

The main objective of the tender is to procure and install state-of-the-art hydrogen production equipment in designated locations across Europe. The equipment will facilitate the production of green hydrogen through electrolysis, a process that uses renewable energy sources to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. This approach is crucial for reducing carbon emissions and supporting the European Union’s goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Key requirements of the tender include the provision of high-efficiency electrolysers with a minimum production capacity of 1 megawatt (MW) per unit. The equipment must comply with all relevant EU safety and environmental standards. Additionally, the tender specifies that companies must provide comprehensive maintenance and support services for the installed equipment for a minimum period of five years.

Among the technical specifications, potential suppliers are expected to demonstrate expertise in electrolysis technology and a proven track record of successful deployments. Bidders must also present a detailed project plan, including timelines for delivery, installation, and commissioning of the equipment. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that the installation process minimizes disruption to existing infrastructure and that the equipment integrates seamlessly with existing renewable energy frameworks.
