The Slovak government has issued a tender titled “ELEKTROLYZÉR NA VÝROBU H2 V ENO,” published on September 23, 2024.

Interested parties must submit their proposals by October 14, 2024. This tender is pivotal for advancing the hydrogen industry within Slovakia, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions in the region.

The primary objective of this tender is to procure an electrolyzer for hydrogen production. An electrolyzer is a critical piece of technology that uses electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, thus generating hydrogen—a clean and renewable energy source. This initiative is aligned with Slovakia’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and achieving energy independence.

The tender requests proposals for designing, building, and installing the electrolyzer at a designated site. The prospective suppliers must provide details on the electrolyzer’s capacity, efficiency, and operational durability. Specifically, the electrolyzer must have a minimum production capacity of five megawatts (MW) of hydrogen per day, with an efficiency rate of at least 70%. The equipment must also comply with European safety and environmental standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the electrolyzer are designed to ensure high performance and sustainability. For example, the efficiency rate of 70% means that the electrolyzer should convert 70% of the electrical energy into hydrogen, minimizing energy losses and ensuring economic viability. Additionally, compliance with European safety and environmental standards ensures that the technology is safe to operate and meets strict environmental protection guidelines.
