The Interreg North West Europe Marine Energy Alliance (MEA) project has reached a new milestone by awarding services through its second call for applications to 23 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

MEA seeks to advance the technological and commercial early stage maturity level (TRL 3 – 4) of marine energy technology companies with the ultimate goal of reducing the possibility of system failure in subsequent demonstration phases.

The awarded companies are: Floating Energy Systems; Dublin Offshore Consultants; HydroWing; Wenverter; Tidal Flyer; Seaturns; Farwind; Solarinblue; Oceans of Energy; Dolfines; Resolute Marine; Sea Wave Energy; Infinities Global Limited; LHYFE LABS; Solarduck; Novige; Development v Kim Nielsen; Solarge; Ingine Wave energy Systems; Stiesdal Offshore Technologies; EO Link; WITT; Waveco.

The 23 selected marine energy technology companies will receive a suite of tailored expert services that will enable them to realize their ambitions and, more broadly, contribute to the overall coherent growth of the marine energy industry.

Through participation in MEA, companies will gain access to the project partners’ expertise in marine energy development, including the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC).

Awarded companies will have the opportunity to work closely with a transnational team of sea-energy experts on both the technical advancement of their technology and the development of their business strategy and business plans.
