Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) has signed a contract with Matrix Composites & Engineering to develop equipment and materials for FFI’s green hydrogen goals.
For example, Matrix and FFI are working together on key applications such as advanced composites and polymers in green hydrogen systems, as well as engineered polymer products for large-scale solar applications.
It is anticipated that the first technology development projects will be completed by the end of calendar year 2022. Matrix’s initial work, while not financially significant, will lay the groundwork for more substantial work and orders in the future if product development is successful.
Matrix’s Henderson facility, Australia’s largest composites production facility, will be used for the design work and any future orders for equipment and materials technologies.
