McPhy Energy, a specialist in low-carbon hydrogen equipment, and Stargate Hydrogen, an innovator in non-precious metal electrodes for next-gen alkaline electrolyzers, have joined forces.

McPhy Energy, a key player in the low-carbon hydrogen sector, is renowned for its cutting-edge equipment, including electrolyzers and refueling stations. In tandem with their mission to drive the hydrogen revolution, McPhy has been making strides in the development of large-scale pressurized alkaline electrolyzers, with a particular focus on decarbonizing industries.

On the other side of this partnership stands Stargate Hydrogen, a trailblazer in the development of precious-metal-free electrodes for the next generation of alkaline electrolyzers. What sets Stargate apart is its innovative use of ceramic catalyst materials to enhance the efficiency of electrolysis processes. Their electrode technology is poised to redefine the future of hydrogen production by eliminating the need for precious metals.

This transformative collaboration has now materialized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The document outlines the intent of both McPhy Energy and Stargate Hydrogen to pool their expertise and resources. Together, they will work on implementing Stargate’s ceramic technology in large-scale alkaline electrolyzers. The key objectives are not only to enhance the reliability of electrolysis system components but also to strengthen the hydrogen value chain.

The strategic knowledge sharing is poised to expedite the growth of both companies. As part of their scale-up strategy, McPhy and Stargate are eyeing the development of their industrial sites in France and Estonia.

The signing of this MOU signifies more than a mere partnership; it’s a testament to the collaboration between France and Estonia in the realms of Green Tech and decarbonization. This endeavor is further bolstered by their participation in the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) on hydrogen, specifically in the Hy2tech wave. It underlines a shared commitment to accelerate hydrogen technology innovations for a sustainable future.

This union between McPhy Energy and Stargate Hydrogen is more than a partnership; it’s a catalyst for innovation and progress in the green hydrogen sector. As the world seeks cleaner energy solutions, this collaboration promises to unlock the potential of alkaline electrolyzers, driving down costs and making green hydrogen more accessible for large-scale projects.
