Energa Argentina, the state-owned energy corporation in charge of expanding the country’s gas transport infrastructure, has signed a deal to form a trust for the Vaca Muerta pipeline megaproject.
Bice, the trustee, investment, and international trade bank, signed the deal.
Fondesgas will manage financial resources for the development of the central duct and related gas infrastructure projects. Trustee is Energa Argentina.
The megaproject’s first phase, which is now in the tendering stage, will be paid for with public monies. The cost of the first phase is estimated to be roughly US$1.57 billion, according to the government.
According to local newspaper Cronista, Argentina’s federal energy agency has issued a resolution mandating natural gas regulator Enargas to create and execute new home piped-gas price tables.
Bills for end-users might rise by roughly 20% as of June 1, according to the report.
