Mérida might get a green hydrogen manufacturing facility first in Extremadura.

The project is pushed by the energy business Fotowatio Renovables and will involve an investment of roughly 44 million euros, of which 11 will be given by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

A 500 MW photovoltaic park is now being built in Carmonita, adding to Fotowatio’s existing huge photovoltaic parks in Mérida and Trujillo. Further 550 MW parks are also planned for the company.

He intends to continue working on renewable energy-related initiatives, and he now wants to move on to the newly emerging field of producing green hydrogen. Kaminoan will be the name of the Emeritense project.
