This innovation focuses on optimizing the efficiency and sustainability of hydrogen production, which is critical as the world transitions to more environmentally friendly energy sources.

The patented method involves a two-zone reaction process where hydrogen is produced using a hydrocarbon feed stream. Initially, this feed stream is introduced into a first reaction zone at a specified first temperature. Under controlled conditions, it yields a first process stream at a significantly higher second temperature. This process stream serves as a heat source for the subsequent steps.

Next, a second feed stream is directed into a second reaction zone. Here, hydrogen production takes place, facilitated by heat exchange from the first process stream. This method ensures that the energy required for hydrogen generation is partially met through the recycling of heat from the initial stream, enhancing the energy efficiency of the process.
