MHI Vestas and Seagreen Wind Energy have finalized a supply contract for 114 turbines for Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm.
The Seagreen project, which will be the single largest renewable energy source in Scotland when completed, finalized the firm order for MHI Vestas’ 114 V164-10 MW turbines to be installed off Fife’s coast in 2021. Seagreen will be built out to 1.075 MW capacity.
The contract will see MHI Vestas manufacture and install turbines at its fourth project in Scotland, the 1.140MW site in Seagreen. MHI Vestas has also signed a 15-year operation and maintenance contract at the plant.

Seagreen will provide about 5.000GWh of clean renewable energy per year, meeting the electricity needs of around one million homes and saving around 1.6 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions yearly.
