An alkaline electrolyzer system has been ordered by Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser to supply green hydrogen for the production of food from CO2 and power.
Factory 01, a new Solar Foods production facility in Vantaa, Finland, is now under development. Commercial Solein® production is expected to commence in the first half of 2023, with Factory 01 serving as Solar Foods’ foundation for scaling up production. Solein is made by feeding gases (carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and oxygen) and tiny quantities of nutrients to bacteria in a bioprocess.
“This study demonstrates the expanding possibilities for green hydrogen solutions once again. We are delighted to be collaborating with Solar Foods “Henning Langs, Sales Director at Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser AS, said:
“Factory 01 will be completed on time, and we are really thrilled about that. Nel provides technology for a key manufacturing step. We are eagerly anticipating the facility’s expansion in 2023 “Solar Foods Project Director Ville-Veikko Vaaranmaa remarked.
The purchase orders are worth around EUR 2 million, and the equipment is slated to arrive in late 2022 or early 2023.
