Franklin Chang, a Costa Rican physicist, announced the establishment of a new corporation in Costa Rica called ProNova Energy, S.R.L. It will be devoted to the development of environmentally friendly hydrogen solutions.

Ad Astra Rocket Corporation Limitada and the Mesoamerican company, The Pearl Trading Group Corp, each own 50% of this company. The scientist made the news via a pertinent fact statement directed to the Costa Rican stock market.

Chang states that they intend to serve clients worldwide, but will first concentrate on Latin America. “ProNova Energy has identified a number of projects on which it will immediately commence work,” the letter states.

As a clean fuel that contains significantly more energy than diesel, gasoline, or natural gas. This is how Chang defines green hydrogen, the company’s primary product.

This fuel is produced by decomposing water into its constituents (hydrogen and oxygen) using renewable energy sources. This enables a reduction in the environmental impact associated with the production and consumption of fuels.

This hydrogen can be burned to generate heat or processed to provide energy and purified water. This is how, for example, fuel cell electric vehicles can be powered.

“Hydrogen is particularly well-suited for use in heavy-duty transportation applications such as buses, trucks, trains, ships, aircraft, and stationary power,” the statement stated.
The same procedure used to separate oxygen from hydrogen (called electrolysis) is also used to generate pure oxygen, which is employed in medicinal and industrial applications.

Franklin Chang’s second company in Costa Rica, Ad Astra Rocket Company, pioneered the green hydrogen transportation ecosystem in Latin America by establishing the first comprehensive green hydrogen transportation ecosystem in Liberia de Guanacaste in 2017.
