Nikola Corporation, IVECO and OGE have signed a letter of intent. The partners are planning a joint business model for the pipeline transport of hydrogen for FCEVs from various production sites to hydrogen filling stations.

Initially, the roles and responsibilities of the partners as well as the principles of cooperation are to be specified and formalized, which are required for the implementation of the goals that are still to be defined in final agreements.

As part of their commitment to building a hydrogen economy, the partners are concentrating on setting up the necessary transport and refueling infrastructure to ensure the safe, reliable and economical supply of hydrogen for truck owners.

“Nikola has set itself the task of implementing and promoting the generation, distribution and provision of hydrogen with industry-leading concepts. We believe that the collaboration in this constellation will be a convincing one offers long-term solution for filling station infrastructure, with which the acceptance of FCEV technologies in the industry as well as in the market as a whole is strengthened.”

Pablo Koziner, president energy and commercial at Nikola.

“With the introduction of hydrogen and battery-powered heavy commercial vehicles, the” transport ecosystem “will change. Current business models along the value chain will also change. Our collaboration is a great first step towards more partnerships to make this a reality here in Europe. This requires entrepreneurial, innovative thinking beyond the boundaries of fossil industrial structures.”

Gerrit Marx, president commercial & specialty vehicles, CNH Industrial.

“OGE is committed to building a pipeline infrastructure for the transport of hydrogen from the production sites to the important network exit points. We are proud that our transport network has played an important role in the development of hydrogen filling stations and in this way to be able to contribute to the decarbonization of the economy.”
