A recent patent filed by Jiangxi Xindian Automobile Climate System introduces a novel radiator design specifically tailored for hydrogen energy vehicles.

The central feature of this patent is the coaxial flat tube integrated into the radiator design. This unique tube, along with a side support plate, is pivotal in enhancing the radiator’s efficiency. At both the upper and lower ends of the coaxial flat tube are headers, while its top end connects to an upper closed manifold assembly, which is further linked to a water inlet pipe. This arrangement facilitates dual flow channels within the coaxial flat tube, optimizing heat management.

An additional highlight of this radiator design is the division of the top and bottom tanks into two distinct layers. This structural modification maximizes the radiator’s capacity to manage the thermal load effectively. By creating separate flow paths, the system supports efficient heat exchange between the low-temperature waste water inside the coaxial tube and the surrounding high-temperature coolant. This approach not only enhances heat dissipation efficiency but also strengthens sealing reliability.

The novel radiator design includes fins that further improve the dissipation of coolant heat through air exposure. Coupled with the coaxial tube’s internal heat exchange, this dual method significantly boosts the radiator’s ability to handle the intensive thermal requirements of hydrogen vehicles, especially at high power outputs. This improved capacity allows the radiator to meet the maximum heat dissipation needs essential for these high-performance cars.
