OCP Workforce and Fortescue Energy have recently formed a joint venture in Morocco.

The collaboration aims to establish a robust platform for producing green hydrogen, ammonia, and fertilizers, not only catering to Morocco but also targeting markets across Europe and globally. Dr. Andrew Forrest AO, Executive Chair and Founder of Fortescue, emphasizes the commitment to advancing Morocco’s transition into a green energy production and industrial hub.

The partners have outlined plans for four pivotal projects in Morocco, including large-scale green ammonia and fertilizer production facilities, green engineering and devices manufacturing, an R&D and Technology Hub in collaboration with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, and investment in essential technology development.

Both Fortescue and OCP Group share a common vision for leveraging green hydrogen and ammonia to achieve emission reduction targets and foster sustainability globally.

Morocco’s geographical advantages, including abundant wind and solar resources and strategic proximity to Europe and the Americas, position it as a significant player in the global energy transition. The proposed projects have the potential to revolutionize the way we power our planet, ensuring future energy security while creating employment opportunities and driving industrial growth in Morocco.

The partnership intends to leverage the expertise of INNOVX, a multi-sectoral project platform dedicated to fostering sustainable businesses and ecosystems with a strong community impact. By harnessing cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions, the Joint Venture aims to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen and ammonia as sustainable energy sources and fertilizer components.
