As part of the DragonFLY consortium, Osprey CSL has been awarded a new contract to provide certification support and regulatory guidance, helping to the creation of a hybrid aircraft certification roadmap.
Project DragonFLY is a ground-breaking project financed by the Welsh Government’s European Regional Development Fund to develop a hybrid electric/hydrogen-powered aircraft in support of a new era of cleaner, greener aviation initiatives achieved via innovative industry partnership.
Osprey will collaborate with Cardiff University as the lead partner, as well as other consortium members Toshiba Europe Limited, Inetic Limited, Wiltan Limited, Control Development (UK) Limited, CTM Europe Limited, and the Aerospace Wales Forum, to develop a hybrid aircraft certification roadmap that will serve as a foundation for future electrical aircraft and assist the aviation sector in its transition to a more sustainable future.
Osprey has vast experience in ‘first of type’ certification of air platforms and systems, and will establish the Safety Management System (SMS) as the foundation for the certification roadmap. The Osprey team will also advise and support consortium partners in determining the methodologies and processes necessary to obtain regulator certification of the air system.
