Together with partners, the Swedish business OX2 is looking into the feasibility of building a new offshore hydrogen pipeline infrastructure to link Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
With Gasgrid Finland and Nordion Energi, gas transmission system operators (TSOs) in Finland and Sweden, as well as Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, OX2 has established an agreement to investigate the pipeline development.
The project’s objective is to establish a hydrogen market and link supply and demand in Central Europe, the Baltic Sea Region, and Bothnia Bay.
The pipeline might possibly be linked to some of the area’s energy islands, including Gotland in Sweden and Bornholm in Denmark. According to the corporation, the initiative will aid in achieving the REPower EU targets by 2030.
