Plug Power has just flipped the switch on its monumental Woodbine, Georgia plant – the largest liquid green hydrogen facility in the U.S.

This feat marks a pivotal chapter in Plug’s ambitious journey towards a hydrogen-powered future, not just for the company, but for entire industries grappling with decarbonization.

Boasting the largest PEM electrolyzer deployment and liquid hydrogen production capacity in the US, Woodbine churns out a whopping 15 tons of liquid hydrogen daily – enough to keep 15,000 eager forklifts humming. Eight 5-megawatt PEM electrolyzers split water like culinary pros, birthing pure hydrogen. This gas then takes a cryogenic plunge, transforming into a frosty liquid (-423°F!) ready for delivery via Plug’s cryogenic trailers, reaching thirsty hydrogen stations across the nation.

With Woodbine up and running, Plug’s liquid hydrogen supply gets a serious shot in the arm, fueling material handling operations, FCEV fleets, and even stationary power applications. Beyond immediate benefits, this opens doors for a fatter bottom line, thanks to improved fuel margins.

More than a production powerhouse, Woodbine is a stepping stone towards Plug’s ultimate vision – a self-contained, “one-stop shop” for all things hydrogen. From electrolyzer and fuel cell manufacturing to cryogenic equipment and logistics, Plug is weaving a seamless green hydrogen tapestry. This integrated ecosystem empowers customers across diverse industries to effortlessly incorporate hydrogen into their operations, driving the clean energy revolution further.
