Poland’s Ministry of Energy and Environment has issued a public tender titled “Deployment of Hydrogen Energy Systems in Public Transport.”
The tender was published on August 16, 2024, with a submission deadline set for September 18, 2024. This tender is crucial for advancing Poland’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
The primary objective of the tender is to design, implement, and manage hydrogen energy systems specifically tailored for public transportation in major urban areas. This includes the procurement and installation of hydrogen fuel cells and the establishment of an efficient hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
Participants are required to present comprehensive proposals that cover technological and logistical aspects. The effort is part of a broader strategy to decrease reliance on fossil fuels, thus contributing to Poland’s environmental and economic goals. Potential contractors must demonstrate expertise in hydrogen technology, with a proven track record of successful large-scale energy projects.
In terms of technical requirements, the tender specifies that the hydrogen fuel cells must meet high-efficiency standards with a minimum operational lifespan of 15 years. The refueling infrastructure should be capable of servicing a fleet of at least 50 vehicles daily, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
