Gmina Nowogard, a Polish local government body, has issued a tender titled “Zakup taboru autobusowego o napędzie elektrycznym wraz z dostawą i uruchomieniem stacji ładowania – Nowa linia pozamiejska” (Purchase of Electric Buses with Delivery and Start-up of Charging Stations – New Out-of-town Line) on February 19, 2025.
Interested parties have until March 26, 2025, to submit their tenders. This tender is significant for the hydrogen industry as it involves the procurement of environmentally friendly transportation solutions, specifically electric buses, which can potentially incorporate hydrogen fuel cell technology in the future.
The primary objective of this tender is to supply two low-floor electric buses along with the delivery and installation of a dual-charging station. The buses must be brand new and mass-produced, not prototype or single-unit products. This requirement ensures that the technology employed is both reliable and commercially viable. These buses should have a total length of 8 to 10 meters and a width between 2.3 and 2.5 meters, accommodating at least 52 passengers including a designated spot for a wheelchair or baby carriage. The tender stipulates that these buses should not exceed 100 km in mileage and should have been manufactured no earlier than six months before delivery.
The procurement strongly emphasizes sustainability through its alignment with National Green Public Procurement criteria. Additionally, it acknowledges the role of EU funds in financing the project. Suppliers are expected to provide warranties for the buses and the chargers, with a minimum coverage of 36 months.
