A hydrogen-fuel test will be conducted this year at PROENERGY’s string-test facility,  that replicates real-world operational circumstances while being off the grid.

The Missouri facility will continue to act as a testing ground for LM6000 PC and PD units and will aid in broadening understanding of aero-derivative fuel flexibility and resilience as its capabilities develop.

With a long-term objective of a 100 percent hydrogen burn, testing will start below the standard 30-percent hydrogen mix and gradually climb to a 50-percent mix.

The facility has a 60-megawatt load bank system that allows for full-speed, full-load testing away from grid constraints and throughout the whole spectrum of the LM6000’s capabilities. Additionally, it features two comprehensive control systems that allow for extensive testing of the LM6000 PC and PD engines.
