Province Resources, a Sydney-listed miner, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Shire of Carnarvon to collaborate on the possible construction of a green hydrogen project in Western Australia’s Gascoyne area.
The MoU will concentrate on further exploring appropriate areas for improving facilities as part of a clean green hydrogen project, and “sends a strong signal to the province that the Shire of Carnarvon is an ideal location to advance the HyEnergy Zero Carbon Hydrogen project.”
The province recently signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding with Total Eren, a subsidiary of French Total, for a feasibility study to build an up to 8 GW renewable power plant and a downstream hydrogen facility. The province said it would look into the feasibility of building and constructing part of the project infrastructure in a 12,311-hectare area north of Carnarvon township.
