Collaboration on the liquefaction, storage, and transportation of hydrogen as well as pure carbon dioxide from Raven SR’s non-combustion Steam/CO2 Reformation process of transforming waste to renewable fuel was agreed upon by Raven SR and Chart Industries.

Using local waste as a feedstock, Raven SR produces Fischer-Tropsch synthetic fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), as well as transportation-grade hydrogen. Local waste sources used in the process include organic waste, green waste, municipal solid waste, and methane from municipal solid waste or stranded natural gas wells. A consequence of this procedure is the capture of CO2, which, when liquefied, can be used in fertilizer production, the production of food and beverages, and other consumer applications. In addition, CO2 can be used as a raw material for eFuels or concrete, two alternative fuels.

The clean energy and industrial gas sectors are served by Chart Industries, a leading global engineering design and producer of highly engineered equipment. Every stage of the liquid gas supply chain, including initial engineering, servicing, and repair, uses its distinctive product line.

With the help of the Raven SR technology, landfill gas and organic waste are transformed into hydrogen and Fischer-Tropsch synthetic fuels through a non-combustion thermal, chemical reductive process. Its Steam/CO2 Reformation does not require fresh water as a feedstock, in contrast to other hydrogen production systems.

The process can produce fuel with low to negative carbon intensity and is more effective than traditional methods of producing hydrogen. In addition, Raven SR wants to produce as much of its own electricity on-site as possible to lessen reliance on the power grid and achieve grid independence. Its modular construction offers a scalable way to generate synthetic liquid fuels and locally renewable hydrogen from garbage.
