Ryze has partnered with zero-emission aviation pioneer ZeroAvia to supply hydrogen for engine and flight testing at its UK base located at Cotswold Airport.

This collaboration underscores the expanding infrastructure within the hydrogen sector, facilitating consistent supply for critical transport, mobility, and industrial clients. ZeroAvia, recognized recently by Time Magazine as a leading US greentech firm, focuses on advancing zero-emission hydrogen and electric aircraft propulsion technologies. Their primary aim is to introduce hydrogen-electric (fuel cell) engines for commercial aviation, recognized for their environmental and economic benefits in mitigating the industry’s climate impact.

ZeroAvia has been actively conducting flight tests with various prototypes, including a 19-seat testbed aircraft over the past 18 months. Additionally, the company has developed a comprehensive Hydrogen Airport Refueling Ecosystem to support these tests and refine operational concepts.

As part of the agreement, ZeroAvia has secured a hydrogen supply contract with Ryze for its UK testing facility at Cotswold Airport in Cirencester. This arrangement is pivotal as ZeroAvia ramps up ground and flight testing to achieve certification for its ZA600 powertrain, designed for aircraft seating up to 20 passengers.

Earlier this year, Ryze unveiled collaborations with Vauxhall to develop hydrogen solutions for fleet operators and with Guardian Glass to aid in decarbonizing energy-intensive float glass production processes.

Ryze boasts the UK’s largest tube trailer fleet, equipped with diverse specifications and capabilities, ensuring optimal flexibility to meet ZeroAvia’s stringent research and testing requirements.
