Saft has opened a new production center for energy storage solutions (ESS) in Zhuhai, China.
This will increase the company’s capacity to serve the global ESS market and help the transition to renewable energy.
The new plant will allow Saft to help customers around the world with an integrated approach to energy storage. This involves every phase from the initial design and size to device engineering, distribution and grid connection.
As a result, operators would be able to minimize their total cost of ownership (TCO) while optimizing performance.
“Investment in our Zhuhai production line shows how we have grown from being a supplier of batteries to providing complete energy solutions. Customers are turning to us for fully-integrated energy storage and microgrid technology solutions.”
Hervé Amossé, executive vice president of Saft’s ESS and mobility division.
The production capacity of the new 6.600m2 plant will be about 200 containers per year, equivalent to 480 MWh.
