In conjunction with Sweden’s energy business Uniper, Sasol ecoFT has signed a statement of intent with the municipality of Sollefte to study the feasibility of creating an industry-scale manufacturing plant for sustainable aviation fuel. Once completed, this cutting-edge industrial facility will aid in the decarbonization of the aircraft sector.
The goal of the joint venture SkyFuelH2 is to use the Fischer-Tropsch method to manufacture sustainable aviation fuel based on green hydrogen and carbon from biomass. Sasol’s world-class patented Fischer-Tropsch technology is used in the process.
Lngsele in Sollefte is an obvious choice for SkyFuelH2, owing to the municipality’s aggressive growth plans, as well as the availability of renewable power, carbon from biomass, and adequate land regions.
