Singulus Technologies, a premier technology provider in vacuum coating technology, has launched its revolutionary PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) sputtering systems. These are specifically designed for fuel cells and PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzer components.

The newly rolled-out inline systems are benchmarking higher levels of cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Built on the already trusted GENERIS PVD platform, they offer significant advantages over their batch counterparts. They foster affordable manufacturing of bipolar plates suitable for mass production to meet upsurging demand.

The GENERIS PVD inline sputtering system displays remarkable flexibility, enabling variable deposition of different layers. The system also accommodates bipolar plates coating of varying sizes. Advanced techniques like rotating magnetron cathodes and novel substrate cleaning methods ensure twice coated surfaces with maximum material utilization and outstanding adhesion.

The GENERIS PVD product line offers machines with a coating area ranging from 510 x 1500 mm to 1400 x 1600 mm. Made to adapt to customer-specific requirements, these machines endorse the principles of intelligent manufacturing.

Singulus Technologies will showcase these systems and solutions at the Hydrogen + Fuel Cells trade fair in Hanover in April 2024.
