As part of their plan to establish an electrolyser assembly line and polysilicon production plant in India, Steinbeis signed a memorandum of understanding with Waaree Energies and DSE Consortium Germany.

The collaboration will also be in charge of introducing solar thermal technologies to India, which will be used to convert the country’s coal fire plants into environmentally friendly power plants. In addition, they will begin working together to build solar power facilities in Africa.

At the 26th Conference of Parties in Glasgow, UK, India pledged to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 45 percent from 2005 levels by 2030. This has prompted the search for renewable, eco-friendlier energy options.

Hydrogen, the most environmentally friendly energy source, is the current focus of research and development efforts around the world. Green hydrogen is created through the electrolysis of water using renewable energy sources like the sun or the wind. Government officials have also proposed a national hydrogen mission in the Union Budget for 2021–2022.
