Linde’s initiative to establish a hydrogen facility at the Nederland site was approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

A long-term contract was inked by Linde on February 6 to provide clean hydrogen and other industrial gases to OCI’s brand-new, massive blue ammonia factory in Beaumont, Texas.

An on-site complex that will be built, owned, and run by Linde will feature an enormous air separation plant as well as autothermal reforming with carbon capture. It will provide clean hydrogen and nitrogen to OCI’s 1.1 million tonne per year blue ammonia plant, the country’s first large-scale, greenfield blue ammonia production.

By storing more than 1.7 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, Linde will provide OCI with pure hydrogen.
