Enrique Fernández, the Minister of Industry, estimated the investment required to implement the HyDeal green hydrogen plan, which intends to offer clean energy to Asturian users such as ArcelorMittal and Fertiberia, at 7,000 million euros. With a budget of 7,000 million euros, the project is the most ambitious in Spain.
The Shyne project, which is led by Repsol and includes Alsa, is followed by HyDeal, which is expected to cost 3,230 million euros. The HyDeal consortium expects to unveil the three technical firms in charge of designing the project, which includes the construction of 15 solar parks in Castilla y León and Aragón as well as over 1,000 kilometers of hydrogen pipes, next week.
TSK, an Asturian engineering firm, will be one of the participants. Although the prospect of using the Zalia is being examined, the site of an electrolyzer facility to be developed in the region is still up in the air. Enrique Fernández stated yesterday that these initiatives can help Arcelor compensate for employment losses through decarbonization.
