Loop Energy fuel cells for fire truck at Spanish airport
A hydrogen-electric fire engine at a Spanish airport will be equipped with fuel cell devices, according to an announcement by Loop Energy.
An undisclosed specialty vehicle OEM with a global operating footprint in 14 countries has established the new fire truck platform.
The fire truck will be equipped with two of Loop Energy’s T505 fuel cell systems. The OEM will roll out the vehicles into action at an airport in the first phase before scaling production for usage in other places. A production start is anticipated for Q4 2023.
Bramble Energy unveils headquarters with hydrogen
Bramble Energy unveiled its multimillion-pound headquarters with a hydrogen innovation and development facility.
Atrium Court in Crawley has a Hydrogen Innovation Hub that researches, develops, and tests hydrogen fuel cells, electrolysers, and sensors. The laboratory can also develop concepts from R&D to production-ready technologies and test fuel cells from single-digit Watts to multi-kW capacities needed to serve the most demanding mobility industries.
It also accommodates Bramble Energy’s growing personnel, which has grown tenfold from eight in 2020 to over 80 now. Bramble Energy, a 2016 university spin-out, produces PCB-based fuel cell technology.
SoCalGas welcomes Gov. Gavin Newsom’s hydrogen strategy in California
Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Gavin’s Newsom announcing a strategy to develop a hydrogen economy in California:
