Consulate of Germany reopening in Ceará focuses on hydrogen
In Fortaleza, Ceará, the Honorary Consulate of Germany confirmed that it is in the process of reopening.
The agency predicts that in the states covered, services to the Brazilian and German communities will start in December 2023 and operate in 2024.
The movement started after German delegations traveled to Ceará. The meetings’ main objective was to research economic opportunities in renewable energy, particularly green hydrogen. The Honorary Consulate in the Capital will be run by Marlene Pinheiro, the Honorary Consul.
Hanwha Power Systems verifies 100% hydrogen combustion
‘Hydrogen combustion’ technology for medium to large gas turbines will be demonstrated by Hanwha Power Systems within the year. In order to commercialize hydrogen power generation by 2027, we will secure related technologies and support initiatives. Beyond the ‘aftermarket’ services for gas turbines, we will create a value chain for hydrogen co-firing in the power generation industry.
In an announcement made on the 18th, Hanwha Power Systems stated that it would start a project to manufacture and use clean hydrogen with the intention of commercializing hydrogen power generation in 2027. In order to do this, we’ll work to verify hydrogen-fueled power generation this year.
KBR and SolydEra sign eco-friendly ammonia solid oxide electrolyzer MoU
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by KBR (NYSE: KBR) and SolydEra to provide an integrated solution for the production of clean ammonia at lower costs utilizing renewable energy.
In accordance with the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding, KBR will incorporate Solid Oxide Electrolysis (SOE) technology from SolydEra into its own K-GreeN® process in order to supply highly effective green ammonia capacity globally. In order to speed up the global energy transition, the combination of KBR and SolydEra technology is anticipated to produce the most competitive levelized costs of carbon-neutral ammonia.
CMA probes Worcester Bosch’s hydrogen-blend boiler marketing
In order to determine whether Worcester Bosch is “misleading shoppers” with its hydrogen-blend able boiler message, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has opened an investigation.
The CMA, which is in charge of upholding consumer protection laws, announced that it will investigate the company’s “hydrogen-blend ready” household boilers and whether the marketing claims made about the products may deceive consumers into believing “they are more environmentally friendly than they are.”
Mabanaft provides hydrogen for tugboats at Port of Hamburg
A new fleet of tugboats at the Port of Hamburg will receive hydrogen as bunker fuel from the German energy company Mabanaft.
The company announced in an email statement on Wednesday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Fairplay Towage Group to deliver its new hydrogen-fueled tugs.
A portion of the company’s tank storage in Hamburg will be renovated to hold the hydrogen.
