Hydrom holds green hydrogen workshop

A workshop on the preparation of the green hydrogen ecosystem was arranged by Hydrom, the Sultanate of Oman’s green hydrogen orchestrator.

Important figures from the energy, logistics, and services industries attended the session.

The Minister of Energy and Minerals and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hydrom, Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, emphasized the observable advancements made in the Sultanate of Oman’s green hydrogen industry development.

He said that eight projects totaling USD 49 billion in investment costs had been signed in April. By producing 1.38 million tons of green hydrogen, the initiatives intend to demonstrate Oman’s dedication to a sustainable and bright future.


Quantum Technology to build green hydrogen facility on Vancouver Island

A deal has been announced by Quantum Technology and a Campbell River-based business to build a green hydrogen manufacturing facility on Vancouver Island.

On June 3, New Times Energy (NTE) Discovery Park and Quantum inked a memorandum of understanding to construct the plant. In the initial pilot phase, the plant will produce approximately 15 metric tons of green hydrogen gas and liquid per day.

The hydrogen will be processed using renewable energy and used as fuel for Powell River, Vancouver Island, buses, trucks, trains, and automobiles. It will also be sold in the Vancouver market.
