Loop Energy sees record fuel cell orders
For the third quarter ending September 30, 2022, Canadian hydrogen fuel cell producer Loop Energy claimed record orders and revenues, achieving quarterly revenues of $2.6 million for the nine months and $1.4 million for the three months ending September 30.
Additionally, Loop reported record purchase orders of 61, up from 13 during the same period last year (2021), surpassing its initial projection for 2022 and demonstrating the acceleration of hydrogen-powered mobility.
The news comes after the company’s 120kW S1200 fuel cell system introduction in September, which, according to Loop, expands on existing technology to offer a 20% greater efficiency increase.
With a step up in power range and scope compared to its other fuel cell products, Loop believes the new system, which was specifically created for medium- to heavy-duty commercial vehicles, opens up a new market.
Report: The diesel truck runs on hydrogen too
The most recent researchanalyst.com study goes into great detail on the pioneering Canadian hydrogen company dynaCERT. The company provides more effective combustion in traditional engines, such those of trucks, by adding its hydrogen technology.
The idea might be a cost-effective and practical stopgap for the current fleets of heavy-duty vehicles while also making a significant contribution to the achievement of global climate targets. A propulsion technology with a near future: hydrogen and diesel? Operators might also pay close attention to potential carbon credits.
