Catalysts support growth of hydrogen value chain

In order to find low-cost, high-performance electrocatalysts for hydrogen production through water electrolysis, portfolio company H2U Technologies and the Italian company De Nora have entered into a research and development agreement, according to a statement released by Jericho Energy Ventures Inc.

The companies declared that the catalysts created will support the growth of the hydrogen value chain and the shift to clean energy.

General Motors and Komatsu team up on hydrogen fuel cell power module

A hydrogen fuel cell power module for Komatsu’s 930E electric drive mining truck will be jointly developed by General Motors and Komatsu. The businesses promised to work together to design and test the technology.

For cars with heavy loads to tow, like the Komatsu 930E mining truck with its nominal payload of 320 tons, fuel cells offer zero tailpipe emissions, according to GM. The fact that these vehicles are usually used in a single mine for the duration of their lives makes it easier to size and implement an efficient infrastructure for hydrogen refueling the fleet of vehicles.
