In order to produce green hydrogen in the United Arab Emirates, Germany’s Uniper SE is collaborating with Masdar, one of the largest renewable energy companies in the Middle East.
The two businesses will construct a facility that will utilize roughly 1.3 gigawatts of solar energy and start producing hydrogen in 2026.
For the world to make the shift to clean energy, green hydrogen is viewed as essential. Although it is presently too expensive to compete with fossil fuels, it is expected to become a widespread market in the following ten years. When water is divided into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable energy, usually wind or solar power, green hydrogen is produced, which burns without releasing any greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
Masdar, an Abu Dhabi-based company, can currently produce 20 gigawatts of clean energy, and by the end of the decade, it hopes to increase that to 100 gigawatts globally.
